    • This notebook basicly came with Windows Vista Home Premium,this lappy belong to one of my office mate,so he decide to install Windows Dreamscene onto his lappy after seen another one of my officemate using Acer 4710 running this Windows Dreamscene on his lappy,so the trick to run Dreamscene is you must running Vista Ultimate to enable this functions,by setting Vista Ultimate to run on Acer lappy is simple,because basicly who bought an Acer with Freedos is given with Driver CD for XP and Vista,but there is another story with Compaq,there is no driver CD came along with this product,maybe because it's came with license,so the recovery program is installed in partition 'D',and this features is so easy if you want to recovery or reformat back this product to it's factory setting,like 1 touch button,but it will show the worst when the system is corrupted,and the recovery partitions is damaged too,so this Compaq Presario CQ40 offer to backup the recovery CD onto cd or DVD,usually use 18 x CD or 3 x DVD,and there is only i chance to make a recovery CD,after you has make 1 copy of this recovery CD,the menu is disable,so 1 notebook only can make 1 recovery CD or DVD,i dont know what is their marketing strategy from Compaq for this.Luckily i has made a backup for this recovery DVD,.And so on,maybe some people may ask the questions,why dont just install some software to force Vista Home Premium to run Dreamscene,the answer is i has tried it,and it's not stable and got some bug on it,so there was not good choice for me,so my decision is reformat back,and install with Vista Ultimate because my friends just want to see the desktop background animated ,he dont know either it is dreamscene or what,but i dont want to mess his Lappy perfomance,then check what i'ved tested onto this product

    1.)Upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate-Successfully with all driver loaded

    2.) Fresh Install using recovery DVD - Successfully with all driver loaded.
    .
    3.) Upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate - Failed
    .
    4.) Fresh install with Windows Vista Ultimated - Done but with with error - No Driver Loaded,so you must download all of the driver manually from Hewlett Packard website,the recovery DVD cannot use to hack the driver.And i dont like this,because you also know how much time you has to spent to get all the driver.....okay see you later,cause i'm downloading the driver rite now....

  • Note : This driver does not listing in list of the driver......weird....i'ved spent 30 minutes just to read and following your guide,not friendly customers,HP shouldnt ask the customer to buy this driver from cyberlink ,we paid the cost of your hardware,and you should responsibility for the software.so my next lappy still an ACER.forget it Compaq...!!!!!!
